Advocacy and Education
In collaboration with other community agencies, the Farmworker Coordinating Council provides information and educational materials about topics of interest to farm workers and their families. Subjects may include parenting, school readiness, legal rights, safety, health, family issues, and information about services available in the community. Support Group
The last Thursday of every month, the agency hosts a community support group from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM.
Guest speakers provide an array of information on services and resources available in the community.
Child care and snacks are provided free of charge during the support group.
Financial Literacy Class
The second Tuesday of the month, the agency hosts a financial literacy workshop that is open to all clients.
During the class, clients learn about banking, budgeting and other financial matters to help manage family finances. The financial literacy workshop is part of the SABER program, and it was funded with a grant from Wachovia Bank.
