CHAT
Community Health Access Team (CHAT) is funded by the Allegany Franciscan Ministry, CHAT promotes access to health care for farm workers.
The program was designed following the framework of a nationally recognized health outreach program model called “Promotoras”; in which peer health educators conduct outreach activities among farm workers to promote healthy behavior and access to health services.
CHAT also provides monthly health informational workshops. Guest speakers, specializing in a variety of topics such as nutrition, prevention, healthy behavior and others, teach farm workers how to improve their health to avoid illnesses.
